Screen Printing
Screen printing — one of the oldest printing technologies used today. Printing process consists of applying a viscous ink by punching it through a small sieve-stencil.
Screen printing technology was known in ancient China where the name came from. High-quality silk was a basis of printing form.
Nowadays special high-precision equipment is using in this method of press, where the main principle remains the pushing paint by rubber squeegee through the screen on a flat surface.
Screen printing application
The method allows applying an image on a variety of materials and products: T-shirts, raglans, umbrellas, overalls, cut fabric, ceramic, glass, plastic, vinyl, paper, wood, metal. Used manual, semi-automatic or automatic equipment.
By screen printing method you can print booklets, stickers, labels, business cards, forms, envelopes, folders, (CDs are possible), POS-materials (pointers, holder, wobblers, shelf talkers, facade flags).
Today screen printing method is actively used in various fields of production. This technology system has several advantages over other printing methods.
Screen printing advantages:
- easy process;
- low-cost equipment and tooling;
- ability to print on materials;
- significant thickness of the applied layer of paint;
- durability of the sealed materials, bright colors and resistance to environmental;
- variety of solutions is not possible with other printing methods;
- savings in printing small and medium print runs.
Colorfulness, ageing resistance and paints stability to environmental influences in screen printing provide quality products for many years.
Specific solutions, which are impossible with other types of printing (different effects on the plastic, thermo-rise, thermotransfer), are realized with screen printing method.
Printing photos on T-shirts, illustration of logos and symbols have become widespread today.
UV varnishing
One of the last applications of screen printing is selective UV-varnishing (varnishing with fixing varnish using UV drying) of various products. Screen printing is capable of applying varnish tape of any thickness on entire product or on some areas, creating a gloss comparable to the lamination.
