Thermotransfer printing
Using method of thermotransfer printing allows applying the picture using the direct transference of images from computer memory to roll transfer. This makes it possible to reproduce the changing information such as - numeration or dynamic bar-code. Printing is carried out using the ink ribbon of black, blue, green, red and gold colors.
Application: thermotransfer printing can produce small printing runs of different types of self-adhesive labels made of such materials as: paper, polymer and sealing.
How thermotransfer printing works?
Thermotransfer printing is carried out using transference of a dye stuff from a special ribbon on a label material with an instantaneous point heating the ribbon at the point of contact with the substrate. In normal condition ribbon is not sticky and it seems to touch dry. Due to the features of dye and the substrate this method is provided by stability of labels to the abrasion, influence of chemical matters and high temperature.
Thermotransfer printing on textile
Thermotransfer – it’s an applying of paint on a paper basis one or many-colored image for following transfer to the textile. Transfers are made of plastisol inks or flocked paper. Transferring images to textile is carried out using thermo-press, under the influence of temperature and pressure. The image got in this way on the textile differ by particularly clarity, washability and fading, and some kinds - resistance to dry cleaning. We make transfers for almost all types of textile and any printing runs and provide services on their application to the product. Term of production - from 3 days.
Features of this technology
Thermotransfer printing makes it possible to get a clearer picture on the label surface. Along with the most sold ribbon of black ink a large number of colors are available. Since the thermotransfer printing uses ink ribbon for applying images on the label, it is possible to achieve good resistance to the environmental influence and various chemical compounds. The printing process is carried out on a large speed with a little cost to service the printer.
Disadvantages of this method
The most important disadvantage of thermotransfer printing – is single use of roll with ribbon. However, the thermotransfer ribbon is the most environmentally safe solution for printing. Thermotransfer printing was developed for industrial bar coding. Universal technology which allows users to obtain a clear, flexible image on a large number of label ribbons (paper, synthetic) - the main requirement for many bar coding projects.
Technology principles
The principle of thermotransfer printing is: a solid dye on normal conditions applied on a polyester stick under the influence of high temperature begins melting and fragmented transferring to paper or any other material of labels.
Thermotransfer ribbon is a polyester ribbon where one side is thermo-melting ink and another side is special cover, which protects the print head.
Applications of thermotransfer printing
Thermotransfer printing is long past period of formation, and today is successfully used for the following tasks:
- Bar coding / Automatic identification / Labels
- Ticket system (air and land transportation, boarding passes and entertaining events)
- Warehousing
- Identification labels
- Fake protection etc.
With proper selection of label materials, printing mode and composition of ink ribbon can achieve excellent results printing on almost any material including synthetic ribbons.
